Weekend Earworm - Summer 2014 on SHUGGILIPPO

Sylvan Esso “Coffee”

The title alone of the track “Coffee” off the self-titled LP by Sylvan Esso, is worthy pressing play. So many of us these days are powered by the nectar of The Bean.

I find it very fitting that this track combines a beautifully, folk-harmonic vocal as performed by Amelia Meath (of Mountain Man) with the somewhat jolting aural sensation of the electronic melody by Nick Sanborn. Mainly because that’s how my body reacts to the trillion ounces of the good stuff I slurped into my body on a given weekday. Before noon.

As far as songs go though, I hope this is one you add to your Saturday morning paper playlist to ease you into the weekend while you sip a solid cup of joe in your underpants and house slippers.

Happy Weekend, Worms!
