I am a fan of most things down under. Kangaroos, opera houses, crotches. You had to expect that last one was on its way. This is me we’re talking about after all.

It’s not often tunes cross my radar and my immediate reaction is, “Holy shit! Modern. Day. John. Hughes. Anthem.” Gypsy & The Cat fit that bill though. Dear god do they ever fit that bill.
The latest single, “”Bloom”, off their The Late Blue album, will give anyone who grew up in the Sixteen Candles/Home Alone/Ferris Bueller’s Day Off/Weird Science era an immediate music boner. I’d put my money on it but I’d rather throw my dollars (and maybe my phone number scribbled on fancy underpants) at the band.
I know I usually appeal to the picture book readers by doing the music shares with a video, but, and trust me on this, you’ll have way more fun closing your eyes and imagining Jake Ryan than drooling down your chin at a video. Plus they don’t have a video yet. That too.
