Having just recently moved to Los Angeles from Arizona six months ago, we figured that the appeal of the city that had inspired us as regular visitors would fade. That living in the popular metropolis would cause all of the glitz and glamour and attraction to fizzle out into the ocean nearby.
Luckily enough for us, none of that ended up happening. Within the first two months of living just 30 minutes outside of Hollywood, we’d visited more tourist attractions as locals than we ever did as out-of-towners. Not to mention that there are so many things to do in Hollywood, that after six months of “staycationing” in our new city, we haven’t even covered the tip of the iceberg in terms of what there is to do. There’s shopping and the Hollywood Wax Museum and dining and dipping our feet in the ocean and people watching and a generally massive amount of family fun.
Family from Arizona has come out to visit on a few occasions but we don’t let the city exploration stay confined to blood relatives.
Recently, my friend Stephanie was in town for a business conference and wanted to check off a few items on her personal bucket list. Who am I to refuse the offer to play Hollywood/Pacific Ocean tour guide when someone yearns for such a thing? WHO?! Suffice it to say, I’m not that guy. I’m not the guy who’s going to say no when you want to put your feet in the Pacific Ocean for the first time in your entire life. I’m just not.
