I used to care zero percent about my nighttime routine.
For as long as I can remember, it consisted of way too much Dr. Pepper after 8pm, snack cakes, booze on occasion and never, ever, ever, included washing my face. Which explains a lot about the cystic acne I had well into my mid-20s.
But now that I’m older and a bit more of a wise woman, I have a full-blown bedtime self care routine that’s perfect for the lazy ladies in the crowd.
My Bedtime Self Care Routine
House of Wise SLEEP Drops – $85
The first step in my 30-minute self care routine are the House of Wise SLEEP products. I like the drops because they are made of four ingredients: melatonin, full spectrum, hemp-derived CBD, MCT oil and orange-ginger flavor. Four ingredients that I can understand and they taste good under the tongue or added to a hot cup of chamomile tea.
These CBD drops help to clear my mind and kickstart a sense of calm as I wind down for a good night’s sleep.
I DEW CARE Namaste Kitten Sativa Face Wash – $19
Hemp-derived products are a running theme in my nighttime routine. I discovered this clarifying cannabis sativa hemp seed oil cleanser from I DEW CARE on a whim when I was aimlessly browsing the aisles of Ulta. (back when that was a thing that we could do…RIP overspending)
I tend to have a little redness and definitely blemish-prone skin and have found that the hemp seed oil and heartleaf extract do wonders to cleanse & calm my skin without stripping all of the good, natural oils.
Reusable Makeup Remover Pads – $12
I have graduated from a makeup wipe, y’all. Now it’s eco-friendly, daily face washing with these reusable makeup remover pads for me. Even on the days when I don’t wear a lick of makeup.
This bundle has been amazing and the quality of the pads is top notch. Biggest selling point for me? It comes with a killer headband to hold the frizz out of the way. If you want a little more personality in your headband you can check out this palm leaf spa headband.
Peter Thomas ROth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud hydra-gel eye patches – $55
Whether I am about to get a good night’s sleep or not (an overactive brain is an overactive brain after all), I always slap a couple of these Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Hydra-Gel Eye Patches for good measure.
The eye contour gel patches help hydrate, moisturize. I’m not there yet on fine lines & crow’s feet, but I certainly show my exhaustion with dark circles. These pups instantly improve that situation for me. Sometimes I’ll slap a new pair on the next morning when I’m set to have a long day of meetings.
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid – $7
Maybe it was the simplicity of the packaging, or the straight-forwardness of the formula, but I was immediately drawn to The Ordinary’s Hyaluronic Acid.
Hyaluronic acid is a tricky one to get right. This formula is a higher concentration of hyaluronic acid which helps to hydrate on multiple levels, but also incorporates Vitamin B5 to enhance surface hydration and support healthy-looking skin.
